Tonic is a 16-year-old Off the Track Thoroughbred who was surrendered to us back in 2021 with a stress fracture, a bone spur, and a tendon issue. After just being able to rest and heal, he was cleared for riding by both our vet and farrier in 2024. He was adopted in late 2024 by a young rider, however, he showed signs of anxiety while being ridden outside of their arena and was returned to the sanctuary.  After having him checked by our chiropractor, we found he was out in several areas which would explain his anxiety. We have since put more riding time on him and have had him out on trails and he is doing great. He is currently in our riding lesson program and is teaching new riders.
