Summer
Summer is an ex-pacer. After her career she ended up in a kill lot because she had a hoof issue that could not be resolved. Our farrier determined that she had an infection in the hoof that had never been treated. The sole of the hoof grew faster than the outer hoof wall so it was painful when she walked. The farrier began cupping out the sole to keep her comfortable. Her hoof was then x-rayed, showing that the coffin bone had begun to deteriorate. With consistent adaptive farrier work, the hoof wall is now growing at a more normal rate but she does need a shoe on at times to keep her comfortable. She is adoptable, but because of her hoof issue, as a pasture mate only."
Summer is Adoptable. Her expenses include hay, complete feed, and Cosequin ASU, totaling $140/month. You can play a vital role in Summer's rehabilitation and care by becoming her Sponsor today.
