Just A Horse Rescue and Sanctuary emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. In Loving Memory
Jet was the horse that started my passion for horses. I was in my forties when I decided it was time to make my dream of owning a horse a reality. I went to a local breeder and decided on Jet, a black and white paint, as paints were my favorite horse. The breeder wanted me to ride her so he saddled her up and without checking stirrup length (I knew little about riding) he sent me off with a young boy on another horse. We went out to a field and soon the boy had his horse running and, of course, Jet followed. I swear the breeder thought that if I stayed on, I could buy her. I did stay on and brought her home. She was 4, had been broke out at 3, and was only green broke. We learned so many things together. She was the lead mare for most of her life in my herd, but led with grace; she was not a drama queen. She did everything I asked willingly, except slow down, as she did everything fast. She became blind in one eye, and that lost her the lead mare status, but she accepted it without a fuss. It did not affect her confidence while being ridden and I continued to ride her, though less frequently. She could sit without being ridden but when I would then ride her, she was always the same. In her later years she worked with us in our Skills Development Program to help youth become leaders of themselves. She was 26 ½ when she passed. She was a great teacher, to me, her herd mates, and our clients. She will be forever in my heart and will be missed by many.

With a wealth of experience in equine care and rehabilitation, they bring a compassionate approach to their work, ensuring each horse receives the attention and training it deserves. Our team is committed to promoting understanding and respect for these wonderful animals, empowering others to join us in our mission of rescue and sanctuary. Together, we strive to create a safe haven for horses in need.
Elaine is certified in Equine Assisted Learning through Equine Connection - The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning, in Horse Facilitated Grief Guidance, and has taken courses in Wellness and Balance. With her knowledge of horse culture and body language, as well as evidence-based outcomes from her trainings, rest assured that Elaine can help participants look inside themselves for the self-growth they need to enhance their lives.

Elaine brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for Equine-Assisted Wellness Programs. Her empathetic approach fosters a safe and supportive environment for participants, enabling them to connect with horses and themselves on a profound level. Elaine's expertise in understanding horse behavior enhances the learning experience, promoting personal growth and self-discovery.
Sierra Clark
Trainer/Riding Instructor
Sierra is a skilled horse trainer with over five years of experience in equine training and behavior. She specializes in developing trust and communication between horse and rider, helping both horses and their owners achieve their goals through tailored training programs. Her dedication to the well-being of the horses and her expertise make her an exceptional choice for any training needs.
